St Ignatius Carol Service is sure to attract many

St Ignatius Roman Catholic Church’s annual Candlelight Carol Service and Christmas Fundraiser will be held at 7pm on Tuesday, 18 December, out in the open in the school courtyard.

The event will commence with scripture readings marking the season, singing of carols, bands and choirs, all surrounded with festive Christmas lights.

The programme will conclude with the gate prize drawing for $25,000, second prize of $2,500 and third prize of US$2,500. There are several additional prizes, including five Cayman Airways US$300 travel vouchers, which can be used toward any Cayman Airways destination. Additional prizes include $50 fuel vouchers for the Walkers Road Texaco and Christmas CD’s from Hi Tide.

This is the main annual fundraiser for St. Ignatius, with net proceeds to benefit both the church and the school. The church will invest money toward facilities improvements in Grand Cayman and Cayman Brac. The school will use the proceeds toward the facilities development fund. A portion of the proceeds will also go to the scholarship fund, which provides tuition assistance for those families who are unable to afford full school fees.

Tickets cost $25, and are available at the school or church offices and from a number of parents, students and church members. Tickets are also on sale at several businesses, including: King Imports, Petique, Island Cleaners, Walkers Road Texaco, GT Automotive, Mike’s Ice and AL Thompson’s Home Depot. Tickets will also be on sale outside most major supermarkets from 3 to 17 December.

Ticket holders do not need to be present to win and all winners will be notified by phone on 18 and 19 December. The prize drawing is always fully audited by KPMG and full results will be posted on the school website www.st-ignatius.com and the church website www.saint-ignatius-cayman.org.

One ticket purchaser last year summed it all up by saying, “Everyone who buys a ticket is a winner, because we are supporting our young people and the future of Cayman.”

For more information and/or to buy tickets, contact the church office at 949-6797 or the school office at 949-9250.

You had better get your tickets immediately as there is only one week left and the event is sure to attract many.
