St. Kitts to get first Ritz-Carlton hotel

Ritz-Carlton is coming to St. Kitts. As part of an agreement with The Liamuiga Corporation, the Marriott subsidiary will manage the new resort when it opens in 2021 as the brand’s first property on the Caribbean island.
The Ritz-Carlton resort will have 125 suites and 25 villas and residences. The property will be part of a 254-acre beachfront site on the Southeast Peninsula of the island near the Robert L. Bradshaw International Airport, downtown Basseterre and local beaches.
The Ritz-Carlton resort will be part of a larger development project led by The Liamuiga Corporation in partnership with Jim Wrightsman, principal of development management firm The JSW|Group. Local design firms along with the Coleman Partners Architects, Three Architecture and Marzipan Interior Design will oversee the design of the multiphase project.
The new resort will join the brand’s current portfolio of more than 90 hotels and 40 residential properties in more than 30 countries and territories. The Ritz-Carlton Hotel group operates another six hotels across the Caribbean, including its properties in Dorado Beach and San Juan, Puerto Rico; Palm Beach, Aruba; Cancun, Mexico; Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands; and St. Thomas, Virgin Islands. Marriott operates 21 additional hotels across the Caribbean.
