“Steve Higgins & Friends Concert series return to The Cayman Islands!” Sun SEP 1 6PM
Consul General Oliver Mair makes debut appearance”
August 20, 2019. Ft Lauderdale – For the fourth consecutive year, The Cayman Islands will once more receive a spectacular treat when Steve Higgins & Friends present their 2019 performance from their Annual “Evening of Excellence” concert series. This year’s theme will be “Music of the Heart!”
The concert will feature lyric soprano Dahlia Wynter, April Marr (Mezzo-soprano) and Steve Higgins (Tenor) with creative dancer Amaya Lewis, who will again mesmerize the audience with her evocative and rhythmic routines!
Our special guest for our 2019 show will be Jamaica’s Consul General Oliver Mair – himself a performer and impresario- who will give a brief address. “I am thrilled to be visiting the Cayman Islands and to lend support to the Steve Higgins & Friends’ outreach and contribution to the international community”, said the Consul General, who makes his first trip to the island in his official capacity.
As in previous years, proceeds from the concert will go to the Lions Club of Tropical Gardens & The Cayman Islands Cancer Society to assist in their missions in the fight against Cancer. Last year, Steve Higgins Productions donated over $7,000 to both organizations. (See Cayman Compass article of October 22, 2018).
Higgins comes to the Cayman Islands, fresh from his show in Santa Monica California, where he received standing ovations from tremendously enthusiastic audiences. The Singers started their 2019 Concert series in Ft Lauderdale in July of this year. From Grand Cayman, they will next appear in Atlanta, Georgia (September 15th), Miami, Florida (September 22nd) then to New York on September 28th, before Higgins heads to The United Kingdom. While in the United Kingdom, Higgins will perform for the Association of Jamaican Nationals Heroes Gala Awards Banquet at Aston Villa (in Birmingham), before heading to Scotland where he will perform at the historic Rosslyn Chapel (of DaVinci Code fame, built in the mid-15th Century) and the St. Cecelia’s Hall, Edinburgh, built in 1763.
