‘Storm Chasers’ star Joel Taylor died on Royal Caribbean cruise ship

“Storm Chasers” star Joel Taylor died while vacationing aboard a cruise ship, and an autopsy in Puerto Rico is currently underway.
Sources close to the situation tell The Blast that Taylor died Tuesday while onboard the Royal Caribbean ship, Harmony of the Seas. The ship left Ft. Lauderdale, FL on Saturday for a week-long voyage.
We’re told the incident happened around the time the ship was docked in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The Harmony of the Seas was chartered by a private company for the trip.
Taylor’s body is currently undergoing an autopsy in Puerto Rico. We’re told Taylor’s cause of death is still unclear, and his family is currently on their way to Florida from their home in Oklahoma.
A rep for the Taylor family tells The Blast, “We can confirm that Joel Taylor has passed away while on a cruise. The cause of the death has not yet been determined. We ask for your understanding during this difficult time and your respect for the family while they deal with the loss of their son.”
A rep for Royal Caribbean tells The Blast, “We extend our most sincere and heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of the 38-year-old male guest from the United States who died while onboard Harmony of the Seas. On January 23, 2018, the guest was found unresponsive in his cabin. As is our standard procedure, law enforcement was notified and responded to the ship when it arrived in San Juan, Puerto Rico. A member of our Care Team is providing support and assistance to his family.”
The Harmony of the Seas is RC’s biggest ship and features water slides, surf simulators, an ice rink, a miniature golf course, a carousel, a casino and two rock climbing walls. “Grease” star Olivia Newton-John performed on the ship Tuesday night, along with Swedish DJ duo Galantis.
