Suspension of Vehicle Inspections and Driver Examinations Due to Inclement Weather

The Department of Vehicle and Drivers’ Licensing (DVDL) of the Cayman Islands wishes to inform the public that, due to the current inclement weather conditions, all vehicle inspections are suspended until further notice. Additionally, all scheduled driver examinations will be rescheduled at no cost to affected applicants.

The safety of our staff and the public is of utmost importance, and due to the weather, it is not possible to safely perform vehicle inspections or conduct road exams for drivers. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding during this time.

Under the Traffic Act, the Department of Vehicles and Licensing in the Cayman Islands was established to assume a comprehensive range of responsibilities. These include inspecting and testing vehicles, registering motor vehicles, maintaining the register, issuing licenses for both vehicles and drivers, conducting driving tests and fulfilling any other functions assigned periodically.
