Suzuki Miss Jamaica World Cornwall Finals set for June 8, Pier 1 – Mobay

St. James, Jamaica: The Suzuki Miss Jamaica World Cornwall 2013 Coronation Show has been set for Pier 1, Montego Bay on June 13. This year, eight young ladies vie for the county crown and the opportunity to represent the county as a finalist in the Suzuki Miss Jamaica World Beauty Pageant.
Cornwall Franchise Holder & Pageant Producer, Junior Taylor says “This year’s competition is looking to be a keen and challenging one as all of the ladies are focused on representing their County. The contestants have been going through the training with the show’s co-producer, Peta-Gay King, and it promises to be an evening of elegance.”
The ladies of the Cornwall pageant were sashed at Pier 1 on Wednesday, May 22 and saw a full house of supporters turn out to see the next possible Queen. They will be competing for cash and prizes valued at over $500,000; with the winner earning an automatic place in the finals of the Suzuki Miss Jamaica World Competition to be held on Sunday, July 21st at the Montego Bay Convention Centre.
The Cornwall County contestants who seek to demonstrate the Miss World tagline ‘Beauty with a Purpose’ are Latoya Bulgin – Miss GV Service Station, Shanika Barnes – Miss Linkz 96 FM, Nastashia Bryan – Miss Jamaica Tours, Nicole Stoddart – Miss Gold Plus Auto, Shanice Rerrie – Miss Kerry Kay’s, Natasha Johnson – Miss One Luv Tv, Lanika Coore – Miss Ward’s Power Tools, and Bria-Symone Lewis – Miss Betta Ice.
With clothing and accessories provided by Montego Bay designers, KokoBeenz & Indigo Soul Kaftans and Halters; this year’s event is sponsored by Cole’s Seafood, Cornwall Garden Centre, D & A Investments, Last Resort Detective Agency & Pier 1 Restaurant & Bar.
Tickets are $1000 and are available at Pier 1 Gift Shop; Kerry Kay’s (Whitter Village); Bite-A-Bit Café (Baywest) & Fontana Pharmacy. The show begins at 8:30 pm.
