Taste of Cayman 2014 – The Countdown Begins!
25 days until the 26th Annual Taste of Cayman Food & Wine Festival. We took a very small breather to celebrate Christmas and the arrival of 2014 with family and friends but we’re back at work earnestly preparing for what we think will be the tastiest Taste of Cayman yet! We hope you’ve already marked your calendars and made your plans to join us on SATURDAY, 8 FEBRUARY at the Festival Green, Camana Bay!
Festival Green
CITA is pleased to continue its partnership with Camana Bay, major sponsor and host of the Taste of Cayman Food & Wine Festival. 2013 was the first year that the Festival was held on the Festival Green, and we are pleased to say that we love our new home! The new space allowed us to spread out and create a huge rectangle of delicious food tasting booths, wine tents and more! A huge thank you to Camana Bay for being such gracious hosts! We look forward to an amazing day on 8 February!
Every year we aim to enhance Taste of Cayman, and make it bigger and better than the year before. 2014 is no different! You can expect Festival staples such as the heavy cake competition, the Bon Vivant demo kitchen in the All Things Cayman area, the photo booth courtesy of Picture This, the ‘Best Of’ competition, the Seven Fathoms mixology competition and the spectacular fireworks display. In addition, you can count on every palate being satisfied by the fantastic food that will be on offer from some of Cayman’s finest restaurants.
Tickets are on sale now! CI$35 gets you entry to the festival, 14 food tickets (equivalent to a large plate of food), a free Taste of Cayman commemorative wine glass (while supplies last) and access to all of the entertainment and fun. Like us on Facebook or follow us on Twitter to get the latest news about the Festival. Buy now and save; tickets will be $45 at the gate!
or at Books and Books, any Blackbeard’s and Big Daddy’s locations and the CITA Visitors Centre (1320 West Bay Road – in the little Cayman Cottage beside Governors Square).
Taste of Cayman Feeding Our Future
Even though CITA is a non-profit organisation, we understand the importance of giving back to our community. Each year we donate part proceeds from the Festival to a charity. This year we have partnered with Feed Our Future (FOF),whose primary mission is to solve childhood hunger and to support intellectual nourishment in the Cayman Islands through the funding of nutritious, low cost or free school meals to children in need. Festival-goers will have an opportunity to donate to Feed Our Future by handing in their unused food tickets. The value of each food ticket will be donated to FOF. In addition, participating restaurants and liquor vendors can opt to donate part of their income to FOF.
Meet Our Chefs: Joe Mizzoni (The Brasserie)
Taste of Cayman Food and Wine Festival is the largest fundraiser for the non-profit Cayman Islands Tourism Association (CITA). The festival is celebrating its 26th year this year and has come a long way since it’s grass roots inception. This festival would not be possible without our generous sponsors each year. For questions on sponsorship opportunities, volunteering or about the event itself, please contact us at [email protected] or 345.949.8522.
