Thanks for yacht a lot of support from bank
Douglas Bay Yacht Club is on course to develop its training programme after it received sponsorship of £1,000 from Cayman National Bank and Trust Company (Isle of Man) Limited.
The company’s head of fiduciary, Roz Melia, said: ‘As a company with a strong sense of corporate social responsibility we are committed to engaging with the communities in which we operate and supporting local causes.
‘Against this background – and given the synergies with the services we provide in yacht management – we are pleased to be supporting Douglas Bay Yacht Club, an organisation whose professional approach to promoting the pleasures of sailing to a wider audience we applaud.’
The club’s honorary secretary, Mike McMahon, said: ‘The officers and members of the club wish to express their appreciation to Cayman National for their generous assistance.
‘The sponsorship money will go towards covering the costs of refurbishment and winter maintenance of the club yacht “Red Mist”.
‘The yacht will be used to give sailing instruction to beginners and novices during the summer months and will be available to experienced club members who do not have their own boats.’
