The Cayman Islands Government delegation visits Foreshore HQ in Jersey
Councillor Roy McTaggart, of the Cayman Islands Government, took the opportunity to visit Foreshore’s Jersey headquarters last week.
The world-class Foreshore datacentre in Jersey processes and protects email and business critical data for nearly 100 Cayman Islands customers, including several Cayman Islands’ Government entities.
The value of the special relationship between the Cayman Islands and Jersey authorities was clearly demonstrated after Hurricane Ivan forced some businesses to relocate their operations temporarily to Jersey. This was made possible by cooperation between the Cayman Islands and Jersey authorities.
Foreshore has become a critical infrastructure component of the Cayman Islands business community, and this was recognised by Councillor McTaggart’s visit, as an aside to the formal agenda during the recent visit to Jersey by the honorable Premier and Cayman Islands delegation.
“We were absolutely delighted with the opportunity to give one of the Cayman Islands Government delegates a guided tour of our datacentre. Our relationship with the Cayman Islands is critical to us and it is always positive to be able to demonstrate the work that is happening from thousands of miles away, to provide the Cayman Islands businesses with the certainty that their information is physically and digitally secure.”
Polly Pickering, Foreshore Regional VP, based in Grand Cayman added:
Foreshore has had a physical presence in the Cayman Islands since 2001.
The Foreshore Cayman Islands’ offices are now located across from Heroes Square in the Fort Street Building.
