You might have understood the above. It is the now the accepted abbreviated sentence, “Pretty damned quick Games of Thrones finishes”.

Have you noticed on the television and media reports everything is abbreviated.

Advertisers on TV use abbreviations the most so the companies can say more in the 30 second spots they have. For our convenience in the tiniest of print running along at the bottom of your screen is the actual words.

How kind of them.

Or they say the accustomed words for the illness they have the remedy for once. And then it’s back to the abbreviated letters. You have LCD, PLAR, BOT, WACK, MAMS, WAKS, ETC. ETC. ETC.

It was bad enough when words of more than one syllable were abbreviated to just one. Now it’s just letters.

Social media is abuzz with them. Teenagers, sorry teens, need them so they can insert them in their texts fast. There is no time.

It took me over a year to discover lol meant “laugh out loud “ and not “lots of love”.

Thankfully someone has compiled a list for me and I know there are many other old codgers or OC’s like me so I will share them:
