The Editor Speaks: “God’s Children Cannot Be Sold”
Just after a week, I’ve written another Editorial. My previous one was attacking the utter filthy language and disgusting video that was shown and heard throughout one of the latest movies shown at the Fanadango Cinema at Camana Bay. The movie was called “Strays”.
Now the same cinema is showing a movie titled “Sound of Freedom” carrying the message “God’s Children Cannot Be Sold”.
The subject matter of the movie is even more disgusting – young children kidnapped and sold into the hands of sex traffickers.
The movie is based ona true story of a former U.S. government agent who embarks on a mission to rescue children from sex traffickers in Colombia.
The movie after five years of trying finally got a wide release in the USA and the plot centers around a US Government Agent’s Operation Underground Railroad, an anti-sex trafficking organization.
Most of our professional critics positevley hated the movie whilst the public was highly positive.
The movie deals with disturbing subject matter that is stomach turning and made me shudder and shed tears. That should not stop you going to see it.
At the end of the movie, the evening I watched it with my wife, Jo, (Sat Sep 2), the audience stood and clapped.
The movie is exciting, with some more light humorous moments, as well as deeply disturbing.
An epilogue states that US Agent Tim Ballard testified before the United States Congress and claims that his testimony resulted in laws being passed that require the government to cooperate with foreign countries on sex trafficking investigations. The epilogue also claims that there are more people enslaved today than at any other time in history, including when slavery was legal.
I urge you to see it.
