The late Peter Leggatt remembered

Highly respected local businessman and church leader, Peter John Leggatt, died on Tuesday (11) at the age of 88. Peter was an active member of the Veterans Association who provided a Guard of Honour.

A Celebration of his Life was held at the Agape Family Worship Centre on Fairbanks Road, George Town, Grand Cayman, on Tuesday Sept. 18th.

Officiating Minister was Pastor Andrew Ebanks and keyboard player, Jhun Padua, provided the music accompaniment.

The Life Story of Peter Leggatt was read by Mark Drummond.

Family members and close friends took part in the moving service with scripture readings, and tributes.

Hymns at the Service and Committal included, “I Will Enter His Gates”, Thy Loving Kindness”, Power of Your Love”, Eagle Wings”, “Amazing Grace”, and “How Great Thou Art”.

Peter leaves a loving wife Janet, children, grandchildren and many friends. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to all.

The family of the late Peter John Leggatt thanked the Church Family, their nearest and dearest friends and the entire community for the outpouring of love, support and strength received. They said, although overwhelmed at times, the legacy of family first – of love and strength which they have been given – will live on forever in their hearts.

  1. It is a long time since I was in the Cayman Islands, many, many moons ago! I am saddened to hear of Peter’s passing. He was a fine and generous person. I wonder if Janet would say Hi to me. I am Paula and Jerry Chambers, daughter. Both my parents have also passed.
