The meeco Group welcomes new Commercial Director
Mr. Hartmut Boden becomes new member of the Board of Directors
The new year starts with a substantial change for the meeco team: As of January 2019, Mr. Hartmut Boden has assumed the position of Commercial Director of The meeco Group. The German economist is the successor of Mr. Konstantin Wolf, who has been part of the company for 15 years and pursues new challenges now. Mr. Boden has a long-term experience in the commercial area, but also in the field of renewable energies. As Commercial Director and part of the realigned management board, he will contribute to further drive meeco’s approach to spread clean energy worldwide.
Mr. Hartmut Boden looks back at numerous professional stages in the commercial sector. As graduate in business management he held the position of Commercial Director and CFO in different international companies. During the last three years, he was the Managing Director of a manufacturer of lithium-ion batteries used for mobile and fixed appliances such as cars and other vehicles or storage systems for PV solutions and homes. Based on these vast experiences, Mr. Boden has taken over the function as Commercial Director now and is thereby responsible for the management of all financial related issues of the whole group. Moreover, he has been appointed Managing Director of the meeco subsidiaries meeco Services Deutschland GmbH and meeco Industrial Services GmbH.
Mr. Boden, which challenges do you expect to be the most exciting and interesting as Commercial Director of The meeco Group?
I think the most interesting and fascinating part of my work will be the simultaneous oversight of all the companies, subsidiaries and joint venture companies of The meeco Group that are spread all over the world. I am used to work in an international environment, but meeco with its over 80 employees across five continents is a particularity. I am very much looking forward to tackling all challenges that may arise together with my colleagues and to supporting our teams and partners worldwide in all finance and administration related matters.
Why did you choose to work in the renewable energy sector, is it a particular interesting industry for you?
It is an absolutely interesting industry and represents a major pillar of our energy future. I have been working in this branch for some years now and it fascinates me to contribute to fostering a sustainable development independently from fossil fuels. I am convinced that we make an important contribution to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) through the worldwide implementation of renewable energy solutions.
As commercial director, the economical part is the most relevant one in your professional life. How do you evaluate the efficiency and commercial viability of renewable energies and especially solar?
Considering the constantly dropping p rices of components, solar energy represents a commercially viable and efficient energy generation method and at the same time a profitable investment opportunity. Thanks to innovative technologies, renewable energies have become competitive and affordable. Whilst ensuring a clean energy supply and a reduction of CO2 emissions, solar solutions also offer attractive and low risk investments. I am eager to see the development of this industry in the next years and to be part of it.
