This wellness retreat in the Cayman Islands kicked my ass—and I liked it

By Jillian Sellers From Cosmopolitan

If you’re into fitness, the Cayman Rejuvenate wellness retreat hosted by The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman (fun fact, it’s pronounced “Cay-mahn,” not “Cay-man”) is totally for you. And if you’re really not that into fitness, this retreat is still for you.

Thankfully for me, a person who falls between those two categories, the workout-packed trip is made for all skill levels. And FWIW, the weekend retreat includes all of the classes, like yoga, meditation, Pilates, water aerobics, and dance cardio. And because it’s the Ritz, they’re not just any old fitness classes. The sweat sessions are taught by people like Khloé Kardashian’s Revenge Body trainers.

Here’s how my insanely sweaty but drop-dead gorgeous trip went down.

But first, a few things to get you prepared for the best few days ever.

As soon as you arrive at the retreat, you’re treated like the total queen you are. You’re greeted with amazing mixed drinks and snacks galore, all before you even check in.

I’ll be honest, I am the opposite of a morning person, but a yoga class with Riva G., the yoga guru with nearly 500,000 followers, was so worth it. During the class, she helped me, the least coordinated person on earth, get some zen. Bonus: The class was full of women of all yoga levels from literally across the world. Yay new friends!

Next up was a Body by Simone cardio dance class with Simone De La Rue herself, who happens to be a trainer on Revenge Body. Although she is the sweetest, her workouts kicked my ass. Still, she actually made it fun. (I mean it!) By the end of the hour, I was beat—in the best way.

The next morning, I toured Camana Bay, the cutest little area of Grand Cayman, with Carol O’Brien of Align Wellness, a physical rehabilitation center in the area. The region is filled with shops, food, and amazing views of the water. After the tour, we were back at it again with some Pilates taught by Carol, followed by breakfast at Jessie’s Juice Bar. I mean, how adorable is this view?!

Your girl was tired AF from all these ass-kicking workouts. So the next day, I decided to sleep in and order breakfast straight to my ocean-view suite.

That literally isn’t even the best part. If you’re in Grand Cayman, you absolutely must swim with sting rays. I repeat: Swim. With. Stingrays. Do not pass Go, do not collect $200. Run to go swim with them. I had the most amazing time swimming with these sweet little guys, which the locals affectionately call “sea puppies.” They are sooo soft and friendly.
