Through expanded partnership with Resorts World RAV Bahamas still in Bimini picture

Resorts World BiminiBIMINI, Bahamas — RAV Bahamas is still very much in Bimini’s tourism development picture, according to a joint statement made by RAV and Bimini’s newest investor, Resorts World Bimini, a subsidiary of the Genting Group, a multinational corporation engaged in a growing portfolio of leisure and gaming development and resort operations in The Americas.
In June 2012, Genting Malaysia joint ventured with RAV Bahamas, developer of Bimini Bay Resort & Marina and Rockwell Island Beach Estates, to build the 10,000 square foot Resorts World Bimini Casino.
Despite a report to the contrary, the statement announced an expanded working relationship that will create additional employment opportunities at Resorts World Bimini. RAV Bahamas will continue to be the developer of the Bimini Bay Resort project andhas partnered with Resorts World to operate and manage the new casino and entertainment complex, as well as the existing resort and marina facilities.
Resorts World has also acquired a luxury high-speed cruise vessel to facilitate the movement of a greater number of visitors and local residents between South Florida and Bimini.
“This significant partnership RAV Bahamas has with Resorts World will expand and enhance Bimini Bay Resort. We are committed to Bahamas tourism and will continue to work with our partner and The Bahamas Government to build upon Bimini’s primary industry,” said Gerardo Capo, Chairman.
Leslie Bethel, a consultant of the joint venture group. “This is the first phase of a significant multi-million dollar investment that is being undertaken by the parties and focuses on product and service enhancements to Bimini Bay Resort, Casino & Marina, in addition to planned island-wide improvements to infrastructure and a beautification plan for both North and South Bimini, we are keenly aware that an integrated approach offering both an authentic island and resort experience is what will keep our repeat visitor numbers at the highest percentage in The Bahamas,” said Leslie Bethel, a consultant of the joint venture group.
Resorts World Bimini has reiterated their commitment to ensuring that Bimini Bay Resort and its future phases are managed in a sustainable manner to positively impact the social, economic andenvironmental fabric of Bimini as evidenced by the groups’ various initiatives. Resorts World Bimini will partner with RAV Bahamas and continue to support mangrove preservation and replanting, community development initiatives, debris removal programmes and the use of biofuels and renewable energy, which will be featured prominently in their current and future development plans.
