The programme will run from July 9 to 20, 2015, with young reporters arriving in Toronto on July 8 and departing on July 21.
Pre-Games training and assignments will begin in April 2015.
Forty-one young reporters will be selected (up to one from each of the 41 participating countries and territories of the Americas).
Candidates will be between the ages of 20 and 25 (by June 30, 2015); will be able to read write and speak fluent English; will be enrolled in sport management or journalism programs (university, college or technical schools); or young professionals already working full-time in the sport or news media industry.

Chosen candidates will be provided with an economy-class return airline ticket, dormitory-style accommodation for the duration of the program, three meals per day for the duration of the program, access to public transportation and any costs associated with workshops and training. Young reporters will be responsible for all other expenses (including personal expenses and incidentals) incurred during the program.
