Trinidad Celebrates 49 years of Independence
Friday night consisted of trivia, comedy, dancing and drinking competitions hosted by Digicel’s very own Kevin Heath and radio personality Paul Akal.
Customers also enjoyed drink specials as they listened to steel pans played by Mr. Earl LaPierre and Son Olujimi.
DJ Todd, Singh’s Caymanian resident DJ kept the momentum going playing the tunes for the young and old soca lovers all weekend long.
Curry Duck, a Trinidadian delicacy was on the menu for lunch as well as an array of other traditional Trinidadian food.
All – Fours, a traditional Trinidadian card game played in pairs, attracted eight teams on the Saturday. The games began at 4:00pm and the competition came to an end after 12am.
Morvin Brooks and Island Vibes finally made their called to stage once the rain stopped. Playing songs old and new, all customers heard something to their liking.
Sunday evening, the Roti Shop hosted a Domino Tournament sponsored by Jacques Scott, with team from bars all across the island.
Prizes included, two tickets to Jamaica won by two of the Roti Shop’s Domino Team players, cell phones courtesy of Digicel, Bar tabs and gift packs loaded with sponsored giveaways.
