FOR THE NORTH ATLANTIC…CARIBBEAN SEA AND THE GULF OF MEXICO…
CLOUDINESS AND SHOWERS EXTENDING FROM THE BAY OF CAMPECHE NORTH-NORTHEASTWARD ACROSS THE EASTERN GULF OF MEXICO TO THE FLORIDA PANHANDLE ARE ASSOCIATED WITH A BROAD TROUGH OF LOW PRESSURE. WHILE THE NORTHERN END OF THE TROUGH IS PRODUCING A LARGE AREA OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ACROSS THE NORTHEASTERN GULF OF MEXICO…UPPER-LEVEL WINDS ARE NOT FAVORABLE FOR DEVELOPMENT IN THE NORTHERN GULF OF MEXICO.
ANY DEVELOPMENT OF THE SOUTHERN END OF THE TROUGH IS EXPECTED TO BE SLOW TO OCCUR WHILE THE TROUGH MOVES INTO THE WEST-CENTRAL GULF OF MEXICO. THIS SYSTEM HAS A LOW CHANCE…10 PERCENT…OF BECOMING A TROPICAL CYCLONE DURING THE NEXT 48 HOURS.
ELSEWHERE…TROPICAL CYCLONE FORMATION IS NOT EXPECTED DURING THE
NEXT 48 HOURS.
