The tournament will run from July 6-13 with matches being played at the Hasely Crawford Stadium (Mucurapo) and Fatima College Grounds (Mucurapo).
TT, which finished second in the previous two years, will do battle with Barbados, Bahamas, Bermuda, Cayman Islands, Guyana, Jamaica, Mexico, Trinidad and Tobago, Turks and Caicos Islands and St Lucia.
The local players are currently working hard in training under the watchful eyes of Manager, Justice Gregory Rousseau; Head Coach, Peter Bacchus; Assistant Coach, Brendan O’Farrell.
Rousseau, who has lead the team over the last two years, is very optimistic of going one better and winning the tournament on home soil.
He is appealing to the local community to come out in their numbers and support the young men who he says are giving it their all. Presently, the training squad consists of thirty-five players, who train three times a week.
Meanwhile, Colin Peters, Curtis Nero and Karl Muckette will serve for another two-year term as Honorary Secretary, Honorary Treasurer and Assistant Treasurer/Secretary, respectively. The outgoing officers were given another term at the TT Rugby Football Union (TTRFU) Annual General Meeting at the Solomon McLeod Lecture Theatre, Police Administration Building, Port of Spain, recently.
