T&T woman who was found bound, gagged in car trunk charged with wasting police time

CNC3 – The woman who was found bound and gagged in the trunk of a car on Monday, was been charged with wasteful employment of police time.
Around 8am Monday morning Reshma Maharaj, 30, of #39 Julien Trace, Rochard Road, Penal, reported to WSgt Morrison and PC Rampersad that she was kidnapped, held captive in a house for two days and robbed by three men.
She was subsequently found bounded and gagged in motor vehicle PBP 5799 at M2 Ring Road Debe.
The said officers along with Insp Gajadhar, PC Harripersad of the Cyber Crime Unit and other officer continued enquiries and as a result PC Rampersad subsequently arrested and charged her for wasteful employment of the police.
She later appeared before Justice of the Peace Sandra Soogrim Ramsaran in the San Fernando Magistrates Court and charged with wasteful employment of police time in that she made a false report that she was kidnapped.
She was charged by PC Trevor Rampersad and represented by attorney Subhas Panday.
