Two Burglaries of Cayman Brac Businesses last weekend; Similar Methods Used

Last weekend two businesses on Cayman Brac were broken into, with similar methods deployed to gain entry.
On Saturday, 6 February, around 3AM an alarm was activated on the property of the Tortuga Rum Company on Cross Roads in West End. Culprit(s) had forcibly opened a side door, and had removed an electricity meter on the side of the building.
On Sunday, 7 February just before 12:30AM, two masked culprits gained entry into Big Daddy’s liquor store on Gerrard Smith Avenue after removing an electricity meter at the rear of the building, disconnecting the power. A metal door was also forced open and entry gained. A quantity of cash was stolen.
In light of these incidents, officers have been doing security checks of business premises on Cayman Brac. Business owners who would like a security check are invited to call the Cayman Brac Police Station at 948-0331.
