Two people are being treated in hospital following a road crash in the Prospect area.

About 9.55am on Aug 31st police attended the scene of a two vehicle crash in Shamrock Road close to Poindexter Road.

The crash occurred when a Toyota Mark 11, which was travelling towards Grand Harbour, collided with a Chevrolet Colorado, which was travelling towards Countryside.

The male driver of the Toyota was cut free from his vehicle by the Fire Service. He sustained serious injuries in the crash. The female driver of the Chevrolet sustained slight injuries. Both drivers were conveyed to the Cayman Islands Hospital, George Town, where they are currently being treated.

Police enquiries into the crash are ongoing and anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact George Town police station on 949-4222.
