Two in hospital following road crash
Two people have been taken to hospital following a road crash in the Red Bay area this afternoon.
About 1.35 pm today, Wednesday 19 December 2012, a white Honda Integra turned left from Selkirk Drive into Red Bay Road and collided with a Toyota Landcruiser. As a result of the collision the Landcruiser flipped and then landed back on its wheels again. Both vehicles sustained major damage.
The man who was driving the Honda lost consciousness and has been taken to the Cayman Islands Hospital in George Town for treatment. The woman who was driving the Landcruiser has also been taken to hospital. Her injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
Police and fire crews are on scene. There is an oil spill at the location and although single traffic lanes remain open in both directions, drivers are being urged to drive slowly and use caution.
Anyone who witnessed the crash should call Inspector Adrian Barnett at the RCIPS Traffic Management Dept. on 946-6254.
