UPDATE: Police Identify Deceased in Brac Fatal Collision, 17 February

Police can now confirm the identity of the deceased in the fatal two-vehicle collision which took place on Tuesday, 14 February, in Cayman Brac. He is 47-year-old Thomas William McLean Sr, of Cayman Brac.

The RCIPS expresses condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.

Fatal Collision in Cayman Brac, 14 February

Police in Cayman Brac are currently on the scene of a fatal two-vehicle collision which occurred shortly after 1:00PM today, 14 February, near the intersection of Polack Drive and Heights Road.

The driver of one of the vehicles, an off-duty police officer, has been transported to the Faith Hospital for treatment for what appear to be non-life-threatening injuries. The passenger of the other vehicle was uninjured. However, the driver was pronounced dead on scene by medical personnel.

RCIPS accident reconstructionists from the Traffic & Roads Policing Unit in Grand Cayman are travelling to Cayman Brac to assist in the investigation.

Polack Drive is currently closed near Heights Road, as investigations continue.
