Update: Cayman – Police Identify Deceased Male Found in Safe Haven

Following a forensic investigation into the identity of the unknown deceased male that was found on the coast of the Safe Haven area of Grand Cayman, the RCIPS can now confirm the deceased person’s identity as Channing Williams, age 39, of George Town.

The RCIPS expresses condolences to the family of the deceased.


Mr. Williams was reported missing by his family on Monday, 21 April. He was said to have last been seen at the George Town Yacht Club, on Yacht Drive on Sunday evening.

The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of Mr. Williams is ongoing, and detectives are seeking assistance from witnesses who may have seen or interacted with Mr. Williams on Sunday, 20 April to call the Major Incident Room at 649-2930.

Initial Release: 22 April, 2025

Just before 9:30 AM today, 22 April, police responded to Safe Haven in George Town, where it was reported that the body of an unknown man had washed ashore and there were no signs of life.


A doctor attended the scene along with police and an assisting Emergency Medical Services unit, at which time the unknown man was assessed and pronounced deceased at the scene.

The body of the unknown man was forensically recovered, and a police investigation has been launched into the circumstances of his death. The RCIPS is thanking the members of the public who assisted with this incident.
