UPDATE: Cayman Police Recover Second Stolen Boat, and Identify Third Stolen Boat at Prospect Property

UPDATE:

On Saturday 10 February, police executed a search warrant of a residential address on Mahogany Way, Prospect, where they identified the second boat that was reported stolen on Thursday 8 February, 2024.

Also at the location was a third boat and trailer that had been reported stolen a week earlier, Tuesday 30 January, from a boat park on South Sound Road. 

In addition to the boats, other suspected stolen items were located inside two shipping containers on the property.

A 68 year-old man of George Town, and a 52-year-old woman of George Town were arrested for Theft, and were both transported to the Detention Centre for investigation.

The incident remains under investigation by the RCIPS Criminal Investigations Department. Anyone with information relating to this case is encouraged to contact the George Town Police Station on 949-4222.

9 February:

Just after 8AM on Thursday 8 February, police were dispatched to a report of two stolen boats in the Prospect area of George Town.

One of the boats, a white 27ft Key West Centre Console with two 150hp Yamaha engines, was stolen from a vacant land in Prospect. The stolen boat was recovered just after 4:30PM on the same day on South Sound Road following police investigations into the incident.

The second boat a white centre console18ft Boston Whaler with a dark coloured 115hp Evinrude E-Tech engine and a green and white Bimini top remain outstanding at this time.
