Update: Cayman Police Seek Witnesses for Fatal Collision

Police can now confirm that the driver of the vehicle involved in the fatal collision that took place along Shamrock Road on Sunday 30 April, was 22-year-old Channah Connor of Bodden Town. She was the single occupant in the vehicle at the time of the incident.
The RCIP extends condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.
Traffic Investigators are seeking information surrounding the circumstances of the incident and witnesses are being encouraged to call the Traffic and Roads Policing Unit at 649-6254 or the George Town Police Station at 949-4222. Initial Release: 30 April
Just after 1:30AM today, 30 April, police and other emergency services were dispatched by the 9-1-1 Communications Centre to a report of a single vehicle collision that took place on Shamrock Road, in the vicinity of Coral Bay Village, George Town.
It appeared that the vehicle was travelling in the west bound lane and the driver of the vehicle lost control, leaving the roadway and colliding with a wall, causing the driver to be ejected from the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle was transported to the hospital by ambulance and pronounced deceased by the attending doctor.
The roadway between Poindexter Road and Spotts Newlands Road on Shamrock Road is currently closed to facilitate investigation. Motorists are currently being diverted to the Rex Crighton Boulevard.
The RCIPS are encouraging the public to avoid this area and apologises for any inconveniences caused.
