UPDATE: Man arrested in relation to Cayman Brac robbery

Update (24 December):
This morning, 24 December, a team of firearms officers conducted an operation in Cayman Brac, assisted by the Air Operations Unit and local officers. During the operation, officers arrested a man, age 40, currently residing in Cayman Brac, on suspicion of robbery, in relation to the incident on Thursday, 22 December.
The man was further arrested in relation to burglary incidents which he is wanted for in Grand Cayman. He remains in custody as investigations continue, and is being transported to Grand Cayman.
Initial Release (23 December):
Shortly after 11:50PM yesterday, 22 December, officers responded to a report of a robbery at a bar on West End East Road in Cayman Brac. It was reported that a masked man had entered the bar carrying a machete. The man took a quantity of cash from the register, along with cigarettes and personal items, and then then fled on foot. No one was injured during the incident.
The suspect is described as being of solid build, about 5’7”-5’8” in height, and was wearing a light-coloured hooded sweater and dark pants.
The matter is currently under investigation and anyone with any information is asked to contact the Cayman Brac Police Station at 948-0331.
