UPDATE: Second Man Arrested in Relation to Robbery Incident at Bank

UPDATE (28 June):
On Sunday, 25 June, a second man, age 47 of George Town, was arrested on suspicion of robbery in relation to the incident on Friday, 16 June at a bank on Crewe Road. He has since been bailed with strict conditions pending further investigation.
UPDATE:
A 27-year-old man of George Town has been charged with robbery, attempted robbery and possession of unlicensed firearm with intent to commit robbery, in relation to the armed robbery incident that occurred on Friday 16 June, where two men were reported to have entered a bank and demanded money from a customer at an ATM, before fleeing on bicycles.
A member of the public that witnessed the offenders flee the bank, pursued them in his vehicle to Old Crewe Road, where he intercepted one of the men. Both offenders then fled on foot into a bush area beside the road.
The offenders were pursued into the bush by police, where one of the men was apprehended and arrested.
Investigations are ongoing and detectives are appealing to anyone who may have information about the whereabouts of the second man involved in this incident, or who may have seen the incident taking place or witnessed any suspicious activities in the area to call 9-1-1 and make a report.

16 June
Just after 11:10AM today Friday 16 June, police were dispatched to a bank located at the South Sound and Shamrock Road junction where it was reported that an armed robbery had taken place.
It was reported that two men, one armed with a handgun, entered the bank and demanded money, they approached a customer at the ATM made off from the location in the direction of South Sound with a quantity of cash. The men were described as tall and slim, but one taller than the other. They were both of dark complexion and were wearing construction type clothing at the time of the incident.
One man has now been arrested in relation to this incident and is currently in police custody. Officers remain on the scene of the incident and searches for the involved parties continue.
Police are appealing to anyone who may have seen the incident taking place or witnessed any suspicious activities in the area to call 9-1-1 and make a report, specifically persons in the Old Crewe Road, South Sound area and Shamrock Road in the Crewe Road vicinity.
