US: Trump hints at signing funding deal

President Donald Trump hinted Tuesday night he might sign the funding deal agreed on by Democrats and Republicans to avoid a government shutdown.
The deal will not include Trump’s requested $5.7 billion in border funding, but the president tweeted a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border will be built with additional border security funds from other areas in the bill.
The agreement would allocate $1.38 billion for 55 miles of physical barriers along the Rio Grande Valley of the U.S.-Mexico border.
“Was just presented the concept and parameters of the Border Security Deal by hard working Senator Richard Shelby. Looking over all aspects knowing that this will be hooked up with lots of money from other sources…….Will be getting almost $23 BILLION for Border Security. Regardless of Wall money, it is being built as we speak!” he said.
Shelby told Trump the deal would provide more than $22 billion on border security, according to The Hill.
“I’ve told him that, as I said a few minutes ago, that Mr. President we had a good reception in the caucus today about this and we know it’s multi-year, we know it’s going to cost a lot of money but it’s a good start,” Shelby said.
Shelby sid he assured Trump Republicans on the Hill shared his concerns that the the bill didn’t contain “everything he wanted.”
“I told him I shared that, we all do. But realizing after I talked with him … that he’s getting a good down payment,”
