Walkers hosts Fundamentals Seminars in US and London
Investment Funds Seminars taking place in London, New York and San Francisco
GRAND CAYMAN, Cayman Islands, Oct. 2, 2014 /PRNewswire/ — Leading international offshore law firm Walkers returns with the Walkers Fundamentals Investment Funds seminar series, taking place this year in London, New York and San Francisco.
The seminars, ‘Everything Offshore – Funds in 2015′, will cover the latest trends in fund terms for both hedge and private equity funds, as well as the global focus of institutional investors, recent developments in fund governance and regulation and what to expect in 2015.
Each seminar will feature a keynote speaker, with Economics Editor, writer and broadcaster, Robert Peston, speaking at the London event. Named by London’s Evening Standard as “the authoritative voice on the UK economy”, Mr. Peston has been named Journalist of the Year by the Royal Television Society and is the former political and financial editor of the Financial Times. Speaking at both of the US seminars will be Jane Buchan, Managing Director and CEO, of the Pacific Alternative Investment Management Company (PAAMCO).
The Walkers Fundamentals London Investment Funds Seminar takes place on Wednesday 8 October, 2014 (4.30pm-6.00pm), at The Honourable Society of the Inner Temple. The seminar series continues in New York on 18 November at The Harvard Club, with the San Francisco seminar on 20 November at the Ritz Carlton.
“We are excited to bring the Walkers Fundamentals seminar series to both sides of the Atlantic this year and we look forward to sharing the insights from our 360-degree perspective on funds,” said Ingrid Pierce, Walkers’ Global Managing Partner. “The implementation of the FATCA and AIFMD regimes this year have kept regulatory issues in sharp focus for our clients and our Global Outlook panel will highlight some of the key opportunities for cross-border deals, at an interesting point in the investment cycle. We expect another highly topical seminar series with some lively debate.”
The Walkers Fundamentals seminars in the US will coincide with the annual release of Walkers’ Global Investment Funds Outlook, a White Paper featuring insight into the latest developments in offshore investment fund structures. The White Paper is based on a survey of all the Cayman Islands funds that Walkers has established for clients during 2014 and demonstrates the emerging trends on liquidity, measures implemented to deal with redemptions and other factors, including board composition and side letters.
The Walkers Fundamentals Investment Funds seminar series was established in 2008 and attracted over 500 delegates to the US events last year. With packed houses each year, it has become a regular on the industry calendar and a “must attend” event for investment fund professionals and managers with international business interests.
Admission to the Walkers Fundamentals seminars is free but by invitation only. To request an invitation or register, interested parties should email [email protected].
