Water authority in Cayman Islands sponsors 2015 Earth Day Clean-Up
In celebration of Earth Day, observed annually on 22 April, Water Authority – Cayman recently donated CI$1000 to sponsor the Cayman Islands Chamber of Commerce island-wide Earth Day Clean-Up.
In addition to its financial support, the Water Authority will also organise a team of volunteers to assist in the clean-up, which takes place Saturday, 18 April.
“The Water Authority recognises the intrinsic link between healthy local ecosystems and a healthy global water cycle and, as such, is always proud to support the Earth Day Clean-Up,” Director of the Water Authority Dr. Gelia Frederick-van Genderen said.
During last year’s clean-up, a team of Water Authority employees tackled roadside litter and beach debris near Heritage Beach in East End.
“The Chamber Council and Staff thank the Water Authority for making the decision to sponsor and participate in this year’s Earth Day Roadside Clean-Up,” Chamber CEO Wil Pineau said.
