We’ve nothing to fear says Kenny
Roberto Mancini’s side have enjoyed a stunning start to the campaign with 11 wins and a draw in their opening 12 games.
City’s haul of 42 goals at this stage of the season is the best by a top flight club for half a century.
However, City haven’t won at Anfield since 2003 and Dalglish believes on the back of the Reds’ victory at Chelsea they are capable of extending their unbeaten run to 10 games.
“We’ll decide what is best for us and let them worry about us more than we worry about them,” Dalglish said.
“But at the same time we respect and appreciate how good City are.
“We know our players, how they can play and their attributes. They are more important than anyone we are playing against.
“We’ll make sure we get ourselves right. If we do things right then we will give anyone a difficult game.
“We know what our individual strengths are and when we need to use those strengths. If we make the right decisions more often than the wrong ones then there will be a lot of smiling faces.”
Dalglish has some tough selection decisions to make ahead of Sunday’s showdown.
Craig Bellamy, Maxi Rodriguez and Dirk Kuyt will be hoping to keep their places after replacing summer signings Andy Carroll, Jordan Henderson and Stewart Downing in the side which beat Chelsea last weekend.
Skipper Steven Gerrard is still unavailable as he continues his recovery from an ankle infection but the manager has no other injury concerns and competition for places is tough.
“We do whatever we think is necessary for the team,” Dalglish said. “We pick the team which is best on any particular day against any particular team.
“If we hadn’t have won last weekend it would have been a bad side. If you win, people say it was a good decision. We don’t have hindsight to work with. The quality in the squad is very good. At the end of the day, it is hard for the ones who don’t play. It is hard to keep them motivated and to keep them going. That is understandable.
“If they come in with really good attitudes when they are left out, it is helpful to everyone.
“Certainly the 11 that started at Chelsea did very well. It was great for the three boys that came on as well. They have only been in the door two minutes. For them to come in with positive attitudes has shown their attitude and determination.
“If they are not committed to playing, it is not going to be my problem – it is going to be their problem. We will go and get people who are determined to play.
“It is not pleasant but it is understandable that there is disappointment if you are not playing every game. But it is a long season and everyone is going to be given their chance.”
