Dart Realty and representatives from the National Roads Authority yesterday signed the first phase of the ForCayman Alliance agreement, giving effect to three projects already under way in West Bay.

The works encompass closure of 2,500 feet of West Bay Road, between Trafalgar Place and the Cayman islands Yacht Club, clearing the way for the second compnonent in the plans, the refurbishment of the old Marriott Courtyard Hotel, creating a four-star beachfront property

The third element is the 9,000-foot extension of the Esterley Tibbetts Highway from its current terminus behind the hotel into the Batabano area of West Bay.

The afternoon signing was attended by Dart Chief Operating Officer  and Executive Vice President Jackie Doak, who said the projects were intended to create employment as quickly as possible.

Only yesterday, the company advertised its employment of 30 workers on the projects.
