In an Extraordinary Gazette published on the Cayman Islands Lands & Survey Department’s website on Wednesday (13) (go to: http://www.caymanlandinfo.ky/RoadSchemes/tabid/186/Default.aspx) the government has officially closed the first portion of the West Bay Road.

The road section remains open as the National Roads Authority (NRA) has not been informed when it will be officially closed. The junction to move traffic on to the Esterley Tibbetts Highway has yet been completed by Dart.

It is still up in the air whether Dart has taken possession of Crown land as part of the controversial For Cayman Alliance.
