Westin and Russell admitted to the Bar

New-AttorneyCaymanian Shane Westin and Alistair Russell from the UK were admitted as attorneys in the Cayman Islands on 27th June. Their applications were sponsored by Carey Olsen and were presented by Leroy Whorms before Grand Court Justice Alexander Henderson.

Mr. Westin qualified as an attorney with Cox and Palmer Law in Halifax, Canada, and was called to the bar of the Supreme Court of Nova Scotia and admitted to membership of the Nova Scotia Barrister’s Society in June. Mr. Westin possesses a bachelor’s degree in humanities from the Franciscan University of Steubenville, Ohio and a law degree from the University of New Brunswick in Canada.

Mr. Russell was formerly an associate with Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom and before that with Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton in London. Mr. Russell was admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales in November 2008. Mr. Russell is originally from Trinidad and possesses a bachelor of laws degree from King’s College, University of London and a bachelor of civil law with distinction from Christ Church, Oxford.
