What goes around, comes around – to the CICC

CKCCarey’s Karma Closet is Cayman’s first women’s high-end designer consignment boutique which opened recently in Buckingham Square by Carey Burns.

Carey’s Karma Closet carries new and gently worn designer clothing, shoes, bags, and jewellery (40-70% off from retail) which are sold on behalf of Carey’s consigners who obtain 45% of the sale proceeds when an item is sold.

The vision of CKC is to provide a vehicle for women to sell their highly fashionable items that they may now no longer want but are still in excellent condition.  In turn, customers at CKC are able to buy these items at a discounted price.  As Carey says, “what goes around, comes around”.

Taking Carey’s vision further, she has graciously agreed to partner with the Cayman Islands Crisis Centre (CICC) in a new and exciting fundraising initiative.  Consigners who entrust Carey to sell their items at CKC are now able to pledge that a certain sum (at their discretion from 5 per cent) be paid from their sale proceeds once their items are sold.   The donated proceeds will be used towards the operating costs of the CICC, which is the only shelter in the Cayman Islands for women and children exposed to domestic violence.

Carey’s phrase “what goes around, comes around” has taken on a whole new meaning, as the consigners are now able to support the CICC as well as sell their fabulous items.

The CICC is delighted to be able to partner with Carey’s Karma Closet in this way and would like to also thank Carey for the company’s personal donation of 5 per cent of all sales on Saturday May 5th.
