The Chamber recently offered its final courses for 2013:  The New Supervisor, facilitated by Lois Kellyman; and Fraud Detection & Prevention, facilitated by Gregg Anderson.    Congratulations to all who attended these sessions and indeed to those who graced the Chamber’s offices throughout 2013.

Participants in the Fraud session included Tatiana Bush and Kaneil Barrett of Cayman Islands Conference of Seven Day Adventists; Phillip Fourie of Cayman Turtle Farm; Tracey Burns of Dart Enterprises, Ltd.; Sharlene Ramtahal of Fidelity Bank (Cayman) Ltd; William Gomez and Vanessa Forrester of St. Georges Bank & Trust Company (Cayman) Ltd.   These individuals learned current  fraud trends, schemes and scams.  They were also introduced to a number of best practices for identifying and developing strategies to protect their organisations as well as important notes on how to develop a Fraud Detection & Prevention Policy and monitor its performance.

Attendees in The New Supervisor course were Wendy Clarke of Appleby (Cayman) Ltd.; Melody Williams of Seaboard Marine; Digna Ebanks-Reynolds and Malsie Pomares-Ebanks of Cayman National Corporation;  Ethel Forbes-Dral of the Department of Tourism; Morna Chisholm of Mourant Ozannes; Daisy Haye of Ogier; Regina Bent of RBC Wealth Management;  Horace Walters of Walkers; and Candice McLean of Swiss & Global Fund Administration (Cayman) Ltd.  Participants learned the foundation skills that new supervisors will need and were provided with the tools to help them succeed in their respective roles.  Topics covered leadership styles, building rapport, motivating others, delegation, coaching and developing people.

Chamber facilitators trust that each training participant celebrates their accomplishments and applies the relevant skills to their daily lives and workplaces.
