Let’s address the elephant in the room. With momentum building on next week’sGet Booked to Speak Bootcamp, some of you emailed the team asking what is the catch? Why are we doing this for free?
Trust is broken
It’s sad that coaches like me have to pay the price for so many bad actors in the digital learning space but this is where we are now. The pandemic really accelerated the rise of fake gurus and now everyone is skeptical of every offering even if it is coming from a legitimate source. My answer to the skeptics is sincerely there is no catch.
Let me start with the obvious.
How I make money
Firstly, the training is free. Period. If you love the insights and want to go on a deeper level, there is absolutely no catch- there is only an invitation to work with me further via my signature program which is a paid multi week coaching experience. If you are not ready to join a program with me, then stay in touch. Either way you would have walked away with an extremely practical experience that will serve you for years.
That is my business model and how I make money. Give first, ask later. If you love my work when it’s free, I know you will love the practical strategies that come with my paid programs.
Why I launched this series
Secondly, there is a deeper reason behind this. I’m just pissed off. I run this program annually for my community because I am on a mission to get more diverse speakers in the global speaker circuit. I’m usually the only black female or the only mother or the only this or that…. And if I’ms sick of this I know some of you are too. Aren’t you tired of seeing the same faces on your feed speaking at every event?
Furthermore, as an event organizer myself, it is always hard to find great speakers and my corporate partners also struggle with this issue. So this is my contribution to helping build the pipeline of the next generation of public speakers.
So that’s it. Rant done.
What’s next?
Make a decision…. My reputation does speak for itself but if it’s not enough…unsubscribe. Because the same way that you are looking for a great mentor and advisor I am also looking for my people. I want to convene a community of people who hold positive energy and excitement for the future.
