Woman gets back stolen urn with mother’s ashes
ROCHESTER, N.H. (AP) — A New Hampshire woman who took an urn of her mother’s ashes to bingo games for good luck until it was stolen has gotten it back.
Diane Bozzi says the urn was stolen from her vehicle on Dec. 5. She says she decided to go to the media with the story because she thought the thief maybe didn’t know what was in it.
Bozzi’s strategy worked. A few days later the urn turned up on the doorstep of her home in Rochester.
She tells WMUR-TV her mother liked to play bingo so she takes the urn with her to games. She thanks whoever returned the urn but also has a message: Stop stealing.
