Cuban Migrants Repatriated
Twenty-one Cuban migrants, who were all housed at the Immigration Detention Centre (IDC), were repatriated to Cuba today (Tuesday, 22 July 2014).
Supervised by Immigration and Prison officials, the men left on a chartered flight from Owen Roberts International Airport on Grand Cayman.
Remaining at the IDC are six Cuban migrants, including two women. Five more men, who arrived on Sunday, 20 July 2014 and sought repatriation, are expected to be moved shortly from Cayman Brac to IDC located off Fairbanks Road.

Five Cuban migrants on Cayman Brac are awaiting transfer to Grand Cayman after they expressed a wish to be repatriated back to Cuba.
Two boats carrying a total of 10 men arrived in Cayman Brac waters on Sunday (20 July 2014). They decided to abandon one of the boats and left in the other, but returned soon after to drop off the five seeking to be sent back to Cuba.
The five remaining in the boat then carried on their journey.
