Sevierville, TN, The Stars Foundation, (TSF) today announced that a growing number of corporate, church, civic, and governmental organizations are championing the cause for orphans and displaced children this year to expand its advocacy work to reach millions in over 100 countries. The flagship day of The Stars Foundation, is World Orphans Day; however, the empowerment efforts for the underprivileged, street, and orphan children are ongoing through the affiliate organizations we support.
The Stars Foundation advocates on behalf of the most vulnerable children by providing traditional media value to non-profit organizations normally not privileged with the finances to pay for media in through regularly scheduled national television programming. The Stars Foundation, through network partners including the NRB TV Network, ( a USA national carrier) currently reaches 50,000,000 households. Through the syndicated broadcast of the Hearts on Fire television series, the message about the needs of AIDS and Ebola orphans, sexually trafficking and the homelessness amongst the youth, will be conveyed. The Hearts on Fire TV series reflects the heart of compassionate activists within the entertainment industry who do acts of love to help those in need, such as Nicole C Mullen with her Baby Girls Club, NASCAR Legend Geoff Bodine, Nashville’s Buddy Jewell and Beau Davidson have been actively involved with The Stars Foundation’s Fallen Heroes Children’s Initiative to help our domestic children left behind by wars.
The City of Sevierville, along with the Sevierville Golf Club and the Wilderness in the Smokies, and Fox Fire Mountain have joined forces to host the filming process of 5 episodes to be filmed from the Sevierville, TN event. The series will air in 2017 in multiple countries, with a minimum household viewing audience of 100+ million households.
Media for the events simultaneously staged in Africa, United Kingdom and Europe have included BBC and UNITED NATIONS RADIO. Through the American Basketball Association partnership with The Stars Foundation, the media partners are carrying the message about the global orphans and street children pandemic through their media outlets ESPN, FUBU TV and Sports Radio America. This will be a seasonal campaign during the winter months for orphan advocacy on behalf of The Stars Foundation.
Cheryl Piggott, the Founder of The Stars Foundation and World Orphans Day, said, “We believe in the Power of One. One Person can make a difference in the world by reaching out and lending a helping hand. One town or village in the world can connect with another and multiply their efforts. This is our message this year for World Orphans Day.
Lend a hand and open your eyes to the conditions of the others less fortunate than you. We selected the beautiful Smoky Mountains region, and specifically Sevierville to represent what a small American city can do to make a difference in the world. We are expecting in years to come, our advocacy work here will grow through events, television production, recording projects with all programming designed to cause a ripple effect to impact needy people throughout America and around the world.“
The Private Proclamation Ceremony will be held on November 14, 2016 at the Sevierville Golf Club at 10:30 am. The City of Sevierville is a major sponsor in the event. “It is simply astounding to learn that there are over 150 million orphans throughout the world today. Most of us rarely, if ever, deal with or even recognize this harsh reality, but it exists nonetheless, even within our own community. Opportunities abound for us to make a difference in the lives of orphans, and The Stars Foundations’ support of World Orphans Day sheds much needed light on both the plight of orphans worldwide and how all of us can help.” stated Sevierville, TN Mayor Bryan C. Atchley
