Young Caymanian Joins the Ministry Team

Janessa Prendergast

The Ministry of Tourism is pleased to announce the appointment of J as its new Public Relations Officer. 

Ms. Prendergast brings a wealth of experience in communications and holds a degree and professional qualifications in Law, as well as a wealth of experience in marketing and communications. Her expertise and strategic approach to public engagement make her a valuable asset to the Ministry’s communications team.

Ms. Prendergast will play a pivotal role in enhancing the Ministry’s brand presence by managing its social media channels, planning and executing key tourism-related events, and supporting a wide range of public relations initiatives. Her contributions will strengthen the Ministry’s ability to effectively communicate with both local and international audiences, showcasing the Cayman Islands as a premier destination.

Outside of her work, Ms. Prendergast is very passionate about environmental conservation and the preservation of Caymanian culture and traditions. She hopes to contribute to the betterment of the Cayman Islands community and continue to develop herself and her professional skills. 

On her appointment, Ms. Prendergast said “I’ve always wanted to be of service to my community and enjoy promoting its beauty and unique characteristics. I look forward to doing that in this role and I’m pleased to be joining a great team.”
