Cayman: Old Many Bay – Temporary closure of Boat Ramp and Dock for DOE approved Dredging April 29th to May 6th

he Ministry of Planning, Agriculture, Housing, Infrastructure, Transport & Development (PAHITD) has announced the temporary closure of the Boat Ramp and Dock from April 29th to May 6th, contingent on weather conditions. This closure is necessary to facilitate the completion of dredging activities in Block 53A Parcels 103.

The dredging project, permitted and approved by the Department of Environment, is a critical infrastructure initiative aimed at improving navigational access and ensuring the safety of marine traffic in the area. By removing sediment and debris from the waterway, the project aims to enhance the functionality and efficiency of the Boat Ramp and Dock for the benefit of residents and visitors alike.

While every effort will be made to expedite the dredging process, the timeline for completion is contingent on favourable weather conditions. The Ministry urges boaters and members of the public to exercise caution and adhere to all safety advisories during this period.

The temporary closure of the Boat Ramp and Dock underscores the Ministry’s commitment to investing in vital infrastructure projects that contribute to the sustainable development of the Cayman Islands. Upon completion of the dredging activities, residents and visitors can expect improved access and enhanced safety measures at the facility.
